Greater Haverhill Poets – is a group of people that enjoy reading and writing poetry. They meet to discuss poetry and writing in general. Their meetings take place every third Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m. in the Haverhill Public Library, Haverhill Massachusetts. Their meetings often have guest speakers and include field trips and are open to the public. The Greater Haverhill Poets currently has approximately 21 members from Haverhill, the surrounding communities and out of state. Members include: Steve Beiras, Jane Lapierre Davenport, Anna M. Soria, Charles Ames Fischer, Meg Gilvar, Lillian C. Schiavoni, L.M. Haverhill Cultural Council - The mission of the Haverhill Cultural Council is to improve the quality of life of the citizens of Haverhill by funding cultural and artistic events, programs and trainings; promoting the arts in general; and contributing to the overall conditions, quality and character of the cultural atmosphere in and around the city of Haverhill. The Haverhill Cultural Council is co-sponsoring this event.

Coralie Hughes Jensen - Author of seven novels including Passup Point and Lety’s Gift, taking place in Newfoundland/Labrador, Two mysteries, L’Oro Verde and The Pukeko, and Winter Harvest, a historical novel about the Shakers in the 1830s. Christopher Obert – Owner of Pear Tree Publishing, a publishing company specializing in helping authors and groups self-publish. (Pear Tree’s newest book is Pen and Brush for the Greater Haverhill Poets.) Chris is the author of Thanks for the Memories – the Serra Family Tree and Stories; he is a published poet: Reflections and The Visual Side; Member - Greater Haverhill Poets; Freelance writer with works appearing in Numismatic News. Marylin Lytle Barr - Published poet: Unexpected Light and Concrete Considerations; Member - Greater Haverhill Poets

Elisabeth Brink worked in publishing, high-tech marketing, and counseling before earning a PhD in American Literature in 1993. Since then she has taught writing and literature at Harvard, Tufts, and Boston College. Anne Martineau - Published writer of fiction, poetry, essays, she sings and composes music, acts, directs and has done professional modeling. Her short fiction currently appears in the upcoming Nobody anthology from DarkHart Press, and she has ghost-written a children’s holiday story, Secrets of Season’s Greetings©, coming out in 2007. Mellisa Sherlin - Mellisa has always thought writing was magic, and she didn’t try her hand at the craft until her second grade teacher, Mrs. Hargraves taught the class how to properly punctuate dialoged with the challenge, “Now, write a conversation yourself.” To the amazement of her teacher, Mellisa finished her homework that night. And while the other children turned in two or three scribbled sentences, Mellisa turned in a five page story based on her favorite book, she entitled Mr. Toad and Mr. Frog Go to the Store that she had painstakingly typed on her mother’s manual type writer.

Richard Smyth - has been publishing the poetry journal Albatross for over 20 years now through the small press called the Anabiosis Press, which publishes chapbooks as well. He is also a published poet himself, having published poems in such journals as Tampa Review, Florida Review, Southern Poetry Review, Appalachee Quarterly, Kansas Quarterly, and others, and he is featured as one of three poets in Poems from the Heron Clan Volume II.
